Conference keynotes

Denis Dennehy is Associate Professor of Business Analytics and School Research Lead at the School of Management, Swansea University, Wales. His research primarily focuses on the mediating role of technologies and data and its implications for teams, organisations, and society. He has worked on several industry-oriented research projects funded by UKRI, MASI, Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland, Erasmus+, and Irish Aid. These projects have been informed through extensive engagement with organisations, including Dell Technologies, Intel, Fexco, Leading Edge Group, Texuna, Kepak Group, and not-for-profit organisations in Ireland and Kenya. This research has been published in leading journals, including the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Information Systems Frontiers, Information and Management, Journal of Business Research, and Government Information Quarterly.

He is co-editor-in-chief for Communications of the Association for Information Systems and senior editor for Information Technology and People, and he has edited many special issues related to his field. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and has received several awards for his teaching and research. He obtained his undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in business information systems at University College Cork. Previously he worked as a Program Manager in Kenya with the Muslim Education and Welfare Association (MEWA), and the Foundation for Sustainable Development, an international US NGO.


Jacqueline Corbett is a full Professor and Research Team Director at the Centre de recherche et de cocréation pour l’innovation et l’avancement durable des affaires autochtones, at Université Laval. She trained in business administration and worked for fifteen years in the financial services and information technology fields before pursuing a second career in academia. She currently lives in Quebec City.

As a researcher, she employs both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She integrates multidisciplinary perspectives to study how information technologies and data can support the sustainable development of local and global communities. She seeks to learn more about and from traditional knowledge systems, build relationships with Indigenous communities and people, and integrate Indigenist approaches in her research. She is co-editing a special issue in the Information Technology for Development journal titled Indigenous Knowledge and Information Technology for Sustainable Development.
